September Song Sweater Kit

September House Sweater shown in Monhegan Moss, fitted. Celebrate the coming of cool weather with our exclusive new sweater kit. Maine Yarn & Fiber Supply has teamed up with the incomparable knitwear designer, Kirsten Kapur (throughtheloops), to bring you the first in our series of breed specific, Maine raised and spun, curated yarn kits. Our September House Kit, features the silky, lustrous and strong fleece from Coopworth sheep. Coopworth is a favorite in our shop, known for its soft hand, long wear and luminous shine. All of this yarn hails from French Hill Farm in Northern Maine. Perched high on a hill above the Kennebec River, this 80 acre farm has been home to Coopworth sheep for nearly 30 years. Sadly, this hand selected clip is the last from this soil, as the Shepherdess is retiring after many years working with her Coopworth, to bring forward the very best genetic attributes of this breed. We are proud to offer this one of a kind yarn to you in our sweater kit. We have designed this yarn as a semi-woolen spun 2-ply DK, spun locally to our specifications.  The original and exclusive pattern is a yoked sweater that is knit in the round. Kirsten Kapur has designed a truly lovely sweater, playing with our colors and the energy of this yarn perfectly.  The pattern allows you to choose between a fitted sweater with waist shaping, or a more boxy style with more positive ease. It is available in two different color options: Monhegan Moss, as shown above, or Point of Maine (see additional photos). Simply select your preference from the drop down menu when adding it to your cart. As with all small batch agricultural crops, this yarn has limited availability, and we encourage you to pre-order to secure your sweater! We are offering a special discounted price on all pre-orders, available now through 11/1/17. The yarn for your September House Sweater Kit will be dyed to order and shipped to you along with: ~A printed copy of the pattern ~An emailed digital file containing the pattern ~Decorative gift box for storage ~Special treats designed with the hand crafter in mind
